A one-of-a-kind yunomi (tea cup), finished in a wood-fired kiln.
With its compact 150 ml size,
it fits comfortably in the hand,
becoming more familiar and cherished with each use.
In our pursuit of “what feels most natural,”
we intentionally avoid making the cup overly precise.
Instead, we create gentle irregularities in its form,
allowing it to sit naturally in the hand.
Through the power of the flame, the cup itself also shifts and warps,
giving rise to a unique form shaped by natural forces rather than strict control.
In particular, the subtle distortion along the rim—
formed by the fire—
enhances the experience of drinking,
offering a natural ease when brought to the lips.
Though small in size,
this piece allows you to fully appreciate the rich traces of flame
that emerge through slow, careful firing—
a truly luxurious and expressive yunomi.
